I had started off with some time at Fanshawe College participating in the video game design program as I had a love for 2D games, especially RPG and pixel games. However, I was not as adept with my modelling or coding and was more interested in the illustrative aspect that had stopped halfway through the program. I found what I was looking for though with the Art Fundamentals and Illustration programs at Seneca College (now called Seneca Polytechnic).
My preferred artistic mediums that I use in my art pieces would be digital illustrations/digital painting, and Acrylic or Gauche paint on canvas and paper. Though these methods are the ones that I’m most comfortable with I have also been experimenting with the use of watercolours.
I had always had a love of sketching and painting, and generally being a creative nuisance within my family. It has helped me to express myself whenever I was in a difficult point in my life, or sometimes even just to help me escape. I tried to draw whatever I could, no matter how terrible it may have turned out. Occasionally trying to do something from my imagination but not really being able to capture what I wanted to, so I also started doing fan art to try to tweak my skills in the direction that I wanted. I took general art classes the first couple years of high school but it was a lot of history without as many things that were hands on. I did take a specialized course in high school for fashion design for the fun of stretching my skills. After high school though I had gone to university for English and creative writing before trying to find a more long term job. However, I wasn’t happy with where I was so I went back to school for video game design, then art fundamentals, and finally illustration, while still working and tending to my animals. I still study online courses occasionally to continue to increase my knowledge of different art styles and forms. I have also recently participated in an art gala and have had a painting on display there.
Things that I have used as inspiration for my art would be reading stories and books, the feelings and emotions within music, drawing and story prompts, shows and movies, fantasies and myths, animals (more specifically horses, cats, and canines), other creators illustrations and photography, as well as other art styles such as Art Nouveau.
